Last April I posted about a photoshopping competition site I'd recently discovered on the internet called thePhotoshop Faceoff. The site posts a daily picture for manipulation, and the resulting entries are then posted for comments and votes by the members of the site. I have found this challenging, a lot of fun and a great incentive to experiment with new techniques. It is also interesting to see the creative ideas others come up with and then to try and figure out how some of the manipulations were done. I have found the members of the site to be very encouraging and positive with their comments, they seem more interested in sharing and creativity than competition and criticism.
I thought I would post some of my manipulations together with their source photos, so friends and family have the opportunity to take a look. A few of these manipulations didn't actually get entered in the faceoff for one reason or another (most I just didn't get finished in time), so they are making their debut here. They are posted in a random order, not a chronological one.
All my work is done in Metacreations Painter 5.
Thumbnails are the source pictures, they are clickable if you want to see more detail. Some of the sources have more than one manipulation.
