Photoshop FaceoffI haven't posted in a while, things have been hectic and stressful with the day-job and I just haven't done a lot of post-worthy art lately. With the weather warming I've had more opportunity to work in the glass studio, but I haven't made much post-worthy there either. I'm teaching myself to work with color and it is pretty slow going. Lots of trial and error, and a successful outcome really just sets up the challenge of getting it to work on subsequent days. I love working with glass, enough that setbacks don't dampen my enthusiasm, particularly since I don't know the outcome until the glass has been annealed and cooled, several hours later. A couple of weeks ago I happened across a link to the Photoshop Faceoff, and I have been having lots of fun with their challenges. They post a daily challenge picture, the challenges are open for 3 days. The idea is to manipulate the photo and then post it to a gallery where it is voted on and members can leave comments. I love it! Doing these is pretty quick and it is such fun to see what other artists have come up with. A great stress reliever! As an example, here is a challenge photo (from a closed challenge) and the two manipulations I posted:
, original
Glitz
Frozen
Such fun! Can't remember where I ran across the site, but I am very greatful to the poster. I love this kind of thing, both the making and the viewing.
